BRING BACK THE MOLE -- SUGGESTIONS + IMPROVEMENTS

Considering that our favorite reality show is probably on the bubble and may not return next year because ABC programmers love *stupid* shows, what can we as fans suggest to improve The Mole and at least give it another chance on TV? Maybe they'll see our posts and think about it.

My own thoughts on this year's Mole are -- 1.)When the writer's strike hit, ABC, like the other nets, pushed the button to rush fill-in programming, namely reality shows. 2.)Since The Mole is probably a property ABC directly owns, or owns the rights to in the US, it was on the list of fill-ins and was given the green light for production. 3.)This would explain the quality issues we all noticed with this year's run; the producers had to throw a product together ASAP and had to go with what they got.

My suggestions for next year's Mole -- if there is a next year -- 1.)Ramp up the prize money, make it a potential maximum million dollars. 2.)Make The Mole a real devious a*hole who's capable of anything and everything, make them truly heartless. 3.)Get the fans involved online on The Mole Web site, have people sign up and take sides with their favorite players, even those who *want* to take a side with The Mole. There should be an online fan winner too, with a prize, but nowhere as big as the show winner. They should say up front during the run of the show what The Mole gets, just to make people squirm. 4.)Ramp up the missions, make them edgier or more challenging. 5.)Bring back The Mole to the US and put them in Alaska for a month, some place really interesting and horrible that viewers can get into. 6.)Save the reveal of the winner and The Mole for the very, very end of the last episode, like the last five minutes -- draw out the suspense as much as possible. The way it was done this year was a buzzkill. If people want to see player interviews and other stuff, they can watch it online.

Those are my ideas. I'm not saying they're the best, but it's a start. And if anybody at ABC or the producers of The Mole like them, you know where to reach me.

How about a better timeslot and a more appropriate lead in? Also, don't do a retrospective until the end.

I forgot to add that they should put each executed player on Good Morning America or Jimmy Kimmel the day after each episode broadcast, just like they do with Dancing With The Stars.

I like the show. From the beginning I thought it was Nicolle or Craig (both were obvious).
But...
Need a stronger host (too bad Anderson is taken). (blah host this show).
Too much meaningless chit chat in some shows.
Yes, have the 'executed one' on morning TV show.
More challenging tasks.
A broader range of contestants. (some older and some younger).

And one more thing. The host never did not call Craigs name in the green/red thumb part. To throw the players off Craig should have been called several times and got the green thumb.

how about more likeable contestants.
This year i wasn't really rooting for anyone.
Season 2 had the best, most likeable contestants to the degree you wanted anyone of them to win.
Better tasks too would help.

They did do this in the past seasons, so not having the mole called was new this season (Season 1, Kathryn was often shown the green thumb)

No no no no no no no, what you want will ruin the show.

I want to see the players reactions to everything and how The Mole did it ON THE SHOW, how they do that now is perfect. Besides that, not everyone HAS Internet access.

Jon Kelley is a great host. I want them to keep him. He was a little stiff at first but by week 3 or 4 he had loosened up and grew on me.

Better time slot. 8 or 9 pm. Possibly before Lost.

Definately executed player on Kimmel or GMA. I never watch those two shows but would if a Mole contestant was on it. Put Jon Kelley on a talk show just before the season starts as well to get the word out.

Let the viewers call in and vote for who they think the Mole is every week. You can already play along on the abc site and I believe there was a prize as well, a trip to Argntina I believe.

More intense games. I liked a lot of the games this season, but season 1 and 2's games were better. Also occesionally the missions should be like season 1, where the players were split in two totally separate groups to play 2 totally different games.

Less exemptions, or harder to earn exemptions.

A round of designate the exemption unanimously to one person or lose money from the pot. They didn't do that this time and that is a great yet simple mind game.

Cast me :) I wanna play so bad its nuts.

Go to abcsavethemole.com to see how you can help save the show :)
Stay Gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold.

I like the viewer phone in option idea. They should not put "clues" in every episode.

I agree with the exemptions. It should follow the format similar to Project Runway or Survivor's immunity idol which will make them work real hard to get the exemption not smashing a clay pig or being a whiner. Project Runway has it so that once it gets down to a certain amount of players they do away with it completely. It's one thing to have them early on when there are 10-11 people but when it gets down to 5-6 people, many of those people should be there for a reason, not because of an exemption.

The time slot definitely hurt the show, but the amount of time lapsed from the last season hurt, too. It's been 4 - 5 years. (I don't count the crappy celebrity editions, even though I did watch them).

It was a good summer show.
