Why ever is this not available on dvd?

I remember Christopher Lee reading these stories. No dvd available though, and there should be. The rendtition of "A Warning to the Curious" was superb and far superior to the acted version with Denholm Elliot, which is on dvd. I would rather this version was, along with the rest of the stories read by Lee.
They have put Tom Baker reading stories on a Dr Who dvd, so even if this was included as an extra, would be worth buying the dvd for.

Hi. Read your comments on the M. R. James subject and I agree with you. I've always been a fan of ghoststories myself, and loved them at christmas time, particularly those adaptions filmed by the BBC. They scared when I was a boy in the 60s and 70s, and growing up, I always looked forward when any of them would be tranmitted when the seasonal preiod came up. Alas they were absent from out television screens for quite some time, as I suspect you know. They did televise them a few times of late and I taped them on video, before DVD was introduced. I've since tranferred them to disc, but I kind of downloaded them. My collection is a little better. I know that it doesn't relate to the ghost stories for christmas with Chrisopher Lee but I'm working my way to that. I taped that when it was first broadcast back in 2000. Sadly it degraded over the years from the excessive playback. I'm a traditionalist you see, and always watch them religiously over the christmas, along with the dramatized versions, and some documentaries, Britain's most terrifying ghoststories, narrated by IAN MCshane, Scream, a journey into the various unsavoury weird stories told in Britain, The corner of the retina, an iside look of James' life stor, and Story of the ghost story. There's also the Green man, which I love to watch every year. Since then I have found a website that sells copies of ghost stories for christmas with Christopher Lee. I purchased it myself since mine's on the fritz. It's fine to me and it works well. You'll find it on 'ioffer.com' if you're interested? But be warned, this is not a proper DVD edition, and I use the words 'be warned' lightly of course, because it is a copy of the original 2000 transmission, long before digital came out. suffice to say it is alright, adequate and watchable. I'm satisfied. If you're anything like me, you'll be happy with it too. It should do for now until an official commercial copy is introduced. ioffer is easy to access. Just punch it in and look for ghost Payment methods range from paypal to google online so you shouldn't have any problems. Happy hunting

Two of the episodes appear as extras on Ghost Stories for Christmas Volume 2 DVD released by the BFI in August. Volumes three and four have just been released on 17th September. I've not recived them yet but will let you know if the other episodes appear on those discs as extras.
