realistic

On the advice of a friend I rented this film. I thought they'd never make a movie about crack like this. Everything about it was very realistic, and it's a very seedy world to get involved in. As a former crack addict myself I found this film difficult to watch at times, but in the end I'm glad I did as I feel stronger now. It's very different when you're on the outside looking in. I'd just like to say to anyone who's dealing with this problem to never give up and there's always hope. Thank you Billy Wirth.

Yes, this movie was not only realistic but so well made. As much as I wanted to turn it off (and I did a couple of times), I turned it back on find out more about the characters. I turned it back on because I knew that I was safe, I was insulated from that world.

Back in the 70's I was exploring in Washington Square Park. I was a serious "wuss" however. I didn't experiment with any new drugs (just pot) (this was before crack) and I found although I loved talking to most of the people, my involvement with thdidn't leave the perimeter of the park (except to eat at a restaurant or coffee shop) and then late at night my friend and I would get on the subway and go home.

This movie brought me back to that time in my life with such vividness. I'm saying a very thankful prayer right now that by the time crack rolled around, my quest for identify and adventure had ended.

I'm partially agree; overall MacArthur Park is a realistic movie but those scenes with the TV news reporter were simply too much.

I mean everything went right until the reporter turns into a psycho and starts shooting everybody and recording it for posterity. How realistic is that? finally he blows his head playing at the russian roulette. Cody and his pal are witnesses of the suicide and thru the TV set they can see how this dude killed their friend Blackie, but their reaction doesn't looks natural, they are more concerned about the money than about the mess they just have been watched.
Nope, that's not realistic at all.
