Gun Control movie -BUT-............

This movie is obviously pro gun control, and I am very anti gun control, however I recommend everybody see this.
It is extremely well done, and well written.
Without spoiling anything I can say that, although its gun control message is clear, it is done in a non-fanatical way, which is the downfall of most movies of its kind. The story is not only plausible, something quite close to it has probably actually happened.
I also find it very easy for an anti gun control person like myself, to see the moral of the story in a somewhat different light than what was intended.

Not really an arms control movie in my opinion, unless you mean that one should control one's own arms; I think he was tracking it down as it was his. Maybe it is about being responsible with what you own, and being absolutely sure of your target before placing your finger inside the trigger guard. Maybe it is about regret and responsibility... I can see how he could become anti-gun after his fear and paranoia got the best of him, but whether or not he did is his choice. I think the only thing it plays to if at all anti-arms is paranoia and fear about losing control of arms, and sowing the seeds of doubt in self; specifically aimed at the elderly if so.

I did not see it as anti or pro gun control. It struck me as a pretty objective "life" of a gun as it travels from person to person including a woman being able to not only use it to defend herself but probably in preventing what was a serial killer continue to abduct and murder more women. She saved lives the psycho would have eventually taken. I think they were just trying to show different scenarios in which the gun was used, in self-defense, in crime, in accidents and in war.

I thought it was a darn good movie. The **SPOILER** ending, i thought, was very clever. But i also think it was very clear in its gun control message. Being on the fence over the issue, that didn't bug me, as i knew what to expect about it going in. And it was subtle enough that it not only didn't hurt the story, it became what made the movie good.
