deeper meaning? !!POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!
Not a bad film really. Not really THAT graphic really either. The scene of the dog hanging by the neck was the only part that really bothered me. It was obvious the dog wasn't really hurt, but it could've been. The movie was a little slow but it had some more exciting parts that picked up the pace.
I was thinking that maybe the film held a deeper meaning specifically regarding chasing success. It seems like the characters in this movie were trying to find success and it made them unhappy ultimately. Even at the end the main character seemed to be wanting more as he stared out the window, even though he got the professorship he wanted.
The girl ended up being disappointed after failing to get on television. The happiest characters in the movie were the most destitute. The bum in the basement, the old lady with the barking dog(at first), the janitor.
When he asked Du-na Bae's character to chase him in order to get her to realize who he was, they ended up passing some girls jogging on the side of the rode. I've heard in Korea, there are academies for girls that fail university entrance exams. They are required to where those gray sweatsuits excercise rigorously, and study all the time. It's kind of a sadistic thing the parents of the girls make them go through in hopes they will end up going to university and be successful.
I thought maybe it was no accident that a group of these girls ended up running along side our two main characters. Everyone chasing success despite themselves.
Anyways, those were my thoughts.
