well considering he cheated on her, he deserved everything he had to put up with and more, just not her at the end. Her with her looks and her brains she deserved someone who is at least good to her....!!!
sharePlease, he didn't cheat on her, he worked late with a coworker and they went to the club. At the worst he exercised poor judgment by not clearing the situation up right when Chantal walked up and acknowledged she was in the spot, too. Chantal even says this after he explains to her what happened. She set the whole thing off by deciding to teach him a lesson. Otherwise, no conflict, no plot, no movie.
shareHis poor judgement was not telling her that he was going out afterwards to the spot. I wouldn't tell my man that I was working late and then afterwards go out dancing with a male coworker of the opposite sex without saying anything. That just looks bad and it would make me look like a liar. If he said "hey, me and my coworker are going to get a drink at so and so and I don't think i'll be coming tonight" then he would have been fine in the first place.
