Horrible movie

I have to say I can't really understand how anyone with a minimum of neurons working in their brain could possibly believe there's any value at all in this shameless display of abominable cinematography.
I hope I don't offend anyone, but honestly, this was the worst movie I've (accidentally) seen this year. By far.
If you like the music, that's a different story, but it's exactly the same as if you like Alicia Silverstone's look. That's not the movie really.
Finally, I was surprised not to find any bad comments (maybe I didn't look well), cause I'd like to believe there are others out there with similar opinion to mine.

Even an Alica Silverstone fan has to admit this film is bad. O'Toole is just collecting a paycheque and is cringingly bad. Everyone else is just going through the motions. I can only imagine the director of photography was off sick during filming. The whole film looks dank, grey and miserable - not really what you want in a light comedy vehicle.

reply

Yeah, this movie was incredibly boring.

It was a bit slow, but Alicia Silverstone was hot in it. That was the only reason I watched it really lol.

i really enjoyed this film, i am a big fan of the music but i thought for what it was, a light hearted, reasonably fun movie it was good. If you're looking for a brilliant piece of cinema with every film you whatch i can see why you may not have enjoyed this one hugely but for a bit of mindless tv watching its what you get!

I agree, have seen it a couple of times. This isn't Oscar quality people! It's a light hearted film with some great characters in it and I for one thought it was charming. Loved, the house! Really thought it was England till I came here. Some people are so darn critical.

on the back of the DVD box it says its just as good as almost famous!
yeah right!!
not even close!
almost famous was a kick ass film
this was not.

I hated Almost Famous, pretty much with every fiber of my being. But I loved this movie. To each their own. And it's just a movie. Chill out.

Even if you didn't like Almost Famous, you have to admit that Kate Hudson's Penny Lane was one of the best characters in film history. She's the best thing about the movie besides the music.

I hope I don't offend anyone, but honestly, this was one of the nicer movies I've (accidentally) seen this year. By far.
If you like the music, that's thats is great, and if you like Alicia Silverstone's look, that is another plus. However that's not the movie really, it is so much deeper than that.
Finally, I was surprised to find any bad comments at all(maybe my NEURONS are failing), cause I'd like to believe there are others out there who happen to have a few neurons functioning and can grasp a good movie when they see it.

Haven't seen the film yet, so can't comment about it.

It is now being aired in the states on one of the Encore cable movie channels.

I lover Peter O'Toole and Joan Plowright, and at least the plot sounds interesting.

I can't believe it's all that bad.

Count me among those who thought this was a waste of time. If it's supposed to be a comedy, why is it not funny? If it's supposed to be a drama, where is the drama? I do like the music, but that alone can't sustain the film. A terminal bore.
