his sweater

when they sealed him in the ice he was bare chested and didn't have a shirt in his hands or the room to put one on, but by day two he was wearing a black long sleeve shirt. that just seems odd to me.

They put the sweater around his waste when they put him in the ice. There was no trap door btw...I'm a magician myself, I know how know methods. He wouldn't need a trap door anyway.

He had the shirt around his waist when he went in....He did have difficulty putting it on in there, but he managed it somehow....he talks about it in his book....And what do you mean how was it "really done"?....It wasn't a trick....it was an endurance stunt.

Yes....I bought his book....It's actually quite good....It teaches you a lot of magic tricks and you learn a lot about the history of magic....It's pretty cool....Why aren't you positive?....I just don't get it when people don't believe he was really in there the whole time....You could go and visit him 24 hours a day while he was in there and you could see him VERY clearly........I didn't remember him having a shirt tied around his waist so I pulled out my DVD and he in fact did have one wraped around his waistHe put it on the 2nd day because the ice started melting and really cold water was pouring all over him, so he thought the shirt would help.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but if that's what he really said in his book, he lied. This was one of five tricks that was publicly exposed on Fox in a tv-special. He used a stunt double, taking turns every other day. So while it did require endurance, he was actually only in the ice for 24 hours at a time.

Ha!!! Omg I find it so funny that someone actually replied to my old account like 8 yrs later . Omg! Seriously rolling in the floor right now. I haven't liked David Blain in years. Ha loved getting an email and seeing that someone replied to a post I did a million years ago. Ah! The memories.

Oh yeah... And my god. How bad did u want to say that? You come on a board no one has been on in years and complain...that's just weird...

I sincerely apologize, my comment wasn't meant to come off that way at all. I also honestly had no idea how old your post was (I will admit that is my fault for not checking), I just was casually reading several boards that I came across out of boredom and curiosity. The date wasn't on my mind, because whether or not the thread was still active, I was in the mindset of simply continuing on with it because it was new to me. Likewise, I was only trying to add to the thread with information (that was probably not available when the thread was started, but like I said, I didn't check your post date.) I'm not sure why that's weird, or why you would want to react to harshly towards me, its a bit disheartening as I had no ill intentions (nor personal investment one way or the other in the topic, just trying to help those who might be interested in the info. I wouldn't normally spend this much time replying to someone's post; I was just genuinely surprised you took me to be posting in that spirit. Once again I apologize, I'm truly not that kind of person and try to be a pleasant person even if its simply a trivial exchange of information/casual-communication on an internet message board.

I'm sure its lame that I even care to post this long of a response over a simple misunderstanding, but I did so anyway in a spirit of sincerity. It's something I think is too often missing from imdb.

Sincerely,
Jas
