The epic scream in the washroom

Jennifer Connelly reminded of Daniel Day-Lewis by her scream. (And they actually lookalike imo. They can pass as siblings.)

Too bad she couldn't get her fix. Which would have calmed her down.

Nevertheless, impressive acting by Connelly in this movie besides the obvious Russell Crowe.

I agree she nailed that scene. Overall she put in a solid performance.

I thought it was way over the top, unsuitable and exaggerated. You scream like that when you lose someone you love, not when you're not getting the D.

After all, she can always masturbate.

reply

Wasn’t over the top you DOPE. She wasn’t upset about not getting any, she lost it for everything that led up to that point.

Sorry, any medication that made me unable to respond to a woman that good looking can go straight to hell. Bring on the Schizophrenia I say.

I agree. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0268978/board/thread/163763087

I know people were saying it was Alicia just experiencing 'one thing too many'.
But the scene just didn't ring 'right' to me, if that was their intention to show this.
It made Alicia seem like a horny woman not getting any, and making her husband feel bad because he CANNOT perform.

I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus.
Didn't he discover America?
Penfold, shush.

I think that y'all are missing the point that sex, to most women, is not just a physical act but emotionally and psychologically nurturing to them. She needed more than the "d", she needed to be held, caressed, loved and desired. Look up the "flat affect", a side affect of some psychosis drugs and also trait of schizophrenia.

If I've never seen it before, it's a new release to me!

Agreed.
What angered me about that scene also was: Why couldn't Nash GIVE HIS WIFE some kind of sexual pleasure manually etc. etc.? Its not 'all about him'.

Or at least embrace his wife, give her a shoulder massage, even hold her hand?!
He lies there like a sweaty dope.

Again, look up "flat affect", that's the answer why or in this case why not. The person has no feelings, no emotions, they can't show it because it isn't part of them.
