I found this quote puzzling, too. It was in the scene in which she's accusing Pinchas of liking her because she reminds him of her father, the rabbi, right?

This might be totally off, but it could have something to do with a very young orthodox girl's perceptions of male dominance in everyday life, though that wasn't so particularly relevent in the context of that scene.

i believe that the comment was actually mis-translated from the original (as much of the film was rather poorly translated). if and when i watch the movie again i'll try to provide a better translation.

Good question. I have no idea what she meant, my first thought was about sexual abuse of her by her father but then... it would not make much sense...

I actually took the quote literally as to the fact that maybe the men had better soap than the women. Meaning what one poster equated to the fact that men are thought of as being superior so would have better things even soap.

I don't speak Hebrew but my guess was this was a bit of a mistranslation -- I think she was saying that the men had more foam on their bodies (i.e., to cover up certain areas that wouldn't be prominent on women) and that this was her first experience with seeing the other gender naked.
