Cheap director's trick using alternate ending in film
After watching this movie and being very confused at the ending as a lot of viewers were judging by the posts, I rewatched (if thats a word) it with the director's commentary on. He said through the ending, he left it the way it is so audiences could make up their own mind as to the outcome. To me, all he did was film an alternate ending leaving both in the film so as not to provide a resolution. If all mysteries were made in this manner, the genre's creativity would suffer as a whole. I felt manipulated by the director, drawn into what I felt was a good, suspenceful mystery only to find out the director had no ending in mind. Any comments?
