It wasn’t the first time that someone had attempted to sue God, there was in fact a similar case which predates the movie. I’m in no doubt it was that very case that was the inspiration for it being made. I can’t remember the precise details as it was long time ago that I read about but I do remember for a fact that it was 1996 as I had only just arrived back to my native Scotland from the Middle East. So upon hearing about the movie it suddenly struck a chord!
