in the scene where Sid strays on the short cut. He sees different animals frozen in the ice and at last a spaceship; they play spaceshippy music to it.
What do you make of this? There are so many theories about the push that humans made around that time in their (our) development and some people believe it was due to alien intervention.

Given the 'Sid Evolutionary Line' we saw in the same scene, I'd say they were playing it for laughs.

shareI thought it might have been an homage to "The Thing". Obviously the kids wouldn't get it, but adults might have been amused by it. I think it's one of the reasons why Pixar/Blue Sky are so popular, they sprinkle in things the parents can enjoy too.
