pleeeeeease let that poor rat get the acorn!!

Scrat was going to only have the opening scene, but people loved him so much they gave him more scenes, and then kept doing so for the rest of the series. You can find several reviews for the movies talking about how he's the best part. Yeah, people enjoy watching him get the crud beaten out of him.

Personally, I'm not into it.

And in the commentary for this movie they say he'll never get the nut, but to be fair that was thirteen years ago and the two that said that aren't directing the fifth (and possibly last) one.

Yes! Its driving me nutts! In the first movie it was kinda funny, but later....
