How old is Dante? In the DMC2 manual, he looks older than he looks in the game. His mother and brother were killed 20 years before the first game, and in the trailer for DMC3, he looks in his mid to late teens when he is fighting Vergil. But he doesn't look like he is in his late thirties in the first and second games...he only looks in his late twenties. As you can tell...I'm really confused...help me out?
shareUm, maybe I can be of some assistance. Okay, well, DMC3 is more of a prequel than a sequel. It takes place before DMC1. In DMC3, Dante's age ranges from his late teens to his early twenties. So I'm guessing from 18 to 22. In DMC1 and DMC2, Dante appears to be in his mid to late twenties. I hope I helped to clear that up for you.

I think the idea that Dante's brother and mother were killed 20 years before DMC was sort of "re-written" by the events of DMC3. This retcon-ing storylines has beeb done a lot, particularly by Hideo Kojima in the "Metal Gear" games.

shareIn DMC1 it never says that Dante's mother and brother wer killed 20 years before. It says that he lost them to evil 20 years before. So I think he is about 34 to 37 in DMC1, And 18 to 19 in DMC3. I'm not sure about DMC2 because of the lack of story. There are a couple of things from DMC3 that makes me think that there will probably be a couple more prequels. 1. Right after you beat the boss in mission 2 dante walks into the scene and says ''It's been a year since we last met''. 2. When you defeat arkham, Dante asks Vergil ''Remember what we used to say?''. This makes me think that Dante would have to somewhere between the age of 14 to 17 when he lost them to evil.
i dunno about anymore sequals, as far as ive seen devil may cry 4 is gonna be either a replacement for 2 or just a sequal it. however, there is a devil may cry 3 manga and it has a much more complex story im sure when its done there will be more unveiled about how vergil turned evil. the first volume of it is out so if ur a fan go pick it up its pretty cool

Yeah i agree with devil may cry master.but remember,he is half demon,half human.Which also means he can live longer than humans.2000 years ago,sparda married a human woman right?so how could have dante's mother died 20 years ago,in the events of dmc3?does this means that she had lived for 2000 years?then dante must be older than 2000 years!if anyone can answer this question,please do.

He probably lived in the human world for 2000 years and then met Dante and Virgil's mother.
What!you mean that Dante and vergil's mother din't live as long as a demon like Sparda?but how did Sparda hid himself from humans all these years?and if Sparda really saved mankind,shoudn't we humans honor Sparda like a god and remember him?
shareSparda sealed the door to the demon world and since he was a demon himself his power was also traped on the other side. So I guess when that happend he took the form of a human.(The one that is an unlockable character in DMC1 and DMC3)
And because he was a full blood demon (without his powers) he lived for a long time.
I mean,you said that when Sparda sealed the gate,all demon power was trapped on the other side,so what about Dante,Vergil,Trish,and Lucia?they all have demon powers and can still use them.How come that their powers are not traped on the other side?
shareI said his power was trapped on the other side but he is a full blood demon. Dante, Vergil, and Lucia can the power because they are part human and they were born in the humin world with demon blood. They can only use the power for a limited time. Since Sparda was a full blood demon and was born in the demon world I would say thats why he lost his powers (Because he was linked to the demon world)(Dante and Vergil are only part of sparda). I don't think trish is a demon because she was a creation of mundus and doesn't have a demon form.

shareYour welcome. I already said what I thought his age might be in DMC1 and DMC3 up above. I'm not really sure why he has two amulets. Maybe it originally was a powerful stone that broke(or was broken by someone)into two pieces.

That is really cool. I can't believe how close that is to my conclusions. Even before I ever played DMC3 (Or read anything on it so I wouldn't spoil it for myself). I really think I got the almost complete story figured out (I even thought of some parts for a prequil to DMC3, (Like the year before DMC3). It's probably exactly what Capcom is working on. I really want to read all of those OFFICIAL books or whatever they are I have heard about (Even though in the end I don't think they will be official). Does anyone know of a website or something that has the stories at least written down? I would really appreciate that. Of course I'm not the only one with ideas, but I don't know, this just sounds to good. Anyway has anyone heard of any ideas for a movie? I hope there will be one as long as they do it right.

The manga took place a year before the game's story He was 18 in the manga and 19 in the game. DMC1 occured 10 years after the manga's story. So that would've made him 28 actually.
