I can't believe they're responsible for this dumbass show.

Yeah...it wasn't meant to be a serious sitcom. I happen to think it's pretty danged funny.

I only know the episode with Austria in german and i think it sucked. Not because it makes fun of my country, but because it made fun of Austria by using stereo types, that aren't even austrian. This was as clever as a sitcom, that would portrait the White house as a barn with abunch of rednecks ruling over the country. Maybe the other episodes are better. Or it's better in english, but this one sucked. It's a shame when you compare it to Trey's and Matt's other work, which is always politically clever. Well, at least I hope they aren't one of the Americans, thinking Austia was Australia lol

It's my favorite thing they've done, even more than south park.

It's layered comedy that is hard to explain;
On one level, it's a sitcom.
On one level, it's a parody of sitcoms.
On one level, it's a parody of the presidency.
On one level, it's political satire.
On one level, if you don't get it - you are part of the joke.

It is supposed to be cliché and stereotypical, that is basically the point of the show. That includes Austrian military along with bimbo secretaries, sassy maids, wacky neighbours, etc.

Writing the show, they took a black board and wrote clichéd sitcom storylines on one side and political issues on the other side, then they simply drew lines between two and wrote an episode from it.

you said it. a brilliant show

The problem with parody is that you have at least sort of like the thing being parodied. My wife and I got sick of (and annoyed at) the cliched sitcom years ago, so we appreciate this show, but we're still luke-warm towards it.

Poor baby!

I'm Canadian. South Park makes fun of the stereotypical Canadian all the time.

Do I cry and whine> No. I laugh.

(Also I;m from Toronto, so I;m not REALLY Canadian, but, whatever *beep* you)

It's not as good as South Park but it's really not a bad show at all.
