they never mentioned Lynn being his girlfriend in the scene when he first meets the waitress, she could've thought that Lynn was another disbaled person because David tells her he's helping at the Special Olympics and is out with some of the competeters.

I THINK it was a different one, than Brandi at the waterfront outdoor lunch area..after all, if David could cheat on LYNN.....then he'd cheat on BRANDI
as well. In short, I think you're confusing the waitress at the lunch area, Brandi, and that other girl at the theatre watching Dirty Dancing with David.

That's the scene with the fameed "Where the bleep did we get ice cream'. PS I misunderstood "Filck" inthe Johnny query to David and his "cheat" "What'd you think of the flick" for "Flesh" LOL. BTW The girl David "dates" at the theatre almost looks like Brandi, and I think it IS INDEED her.BTW The actor playing David is named Zen Gesner, his entry doesn't enough about his name's origin...Gesner is also the "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" author's name [Clark, though, not Zen][1967].

It was more than a day because Steve went with Lynn to Costco between the double date and being caught in the movie.
In any case, I agree it was a lazy plot device but did lead to the hilarious ice cream line so it's all good.
