that mri woman was a bittch

talk about a cold hearted bittch.
lose the wedding ring and when jet li hugs his wife, shes like -this is an mri not a heart transplant. i would have punched her in the mouth

"So, a thought crossed your mind? Must have been a long and lonely journey"

And why was she asking his wife all the questions about him?
Does she think he can't speak English? or on some feminazi ego rush where she wont let no man tell her anything...

...even if it's about him and from questions she's asking?

She was funny and that line made me laugh.
I liked her.

Why is she a bitch? She's right. It's just an MRI. How is she supposed to know he has an inter-dimensional criminal coming after him?

Because it's none of her business if he wants to hug his wife or not.

Oh okay. I forgot people in the real world only comment on people they know. I'm sure you've never spoken sarcastically about anyone.

This is particularly true considering that he was getting the MRI because they were convinced that he might have some strange medical condition.

The purpose of an MRI in a situation like this is to see if there's a neurological problem. Since he's telling his wife that he's seeing himself. Nobody else really knows why he's going for an MRI.

At any rate, he isn't going to die in the MRI while he's being scanned. Which was the point of the line. Especially since it isn't like they get the results live as the scan is happening.

What IS strange behavior is the technician being such a ridiculously wet blanket that the notion of a husband and wife daring to hug each other is sufficient to induce her to roll her eyes and sneer condescendingly at them.

She was a nurse, not a tech. The tech is the guy who was performing the scan.

What's really funny here is that you're totally missing the point of the line. You're acting like it was some mean spirited joke against real people. It was meant to be a light moment in what is generally a pretty heavy(emotionally) movie.

So, no. She's not right. She's a bitch.

No. She is right. It's a totally noninvasive test. Even if they found something, he has no reason to be nervous with regards to the MRI itself.

Actually, if you comment on someone without invitation in front of them, you are a bitch by definition.

She led to the funniest scene in the movie.

"Oh for God's sake, you're getting an MRI, not a heart transplant."

That was the actress Harriet Sansom Harris, probably best known for her devilish role of Bebe Glazer, Frasier Crane's agent in the tv show Frasier. Maybe they wanted her to be kind of a bitch in The One, due to the fact that she was very much like that in Frasier.
