Clearing up some confusion...

One of the reviewers of this movie asked if Matthew died that night or the next morning because in the film he had tears running down his face when the police woman found him. The truth is he died the next morning in the hospital. He survived the entire night tied to a fence, beaten and bloody. Furthermore, Aaron McKinney, the puke who tied Matthew to a fence and beat him senseless recieved two consecuticve life sentnces with no opportunity of appeal, and a self imposed gag order. He will never be able to write a book about his life, or sell right for a TV movie, and he will be in jail for the rest of his life, hopefully as some 300 pound black guy's wife.

reply

I find your last statement very offensive. A 300 pound black guy's wife? I doubt Matthew Shepard would appreciate you using that stereotype even if you are talking about his killer. Don't get me wrong! I'm not saying Aaron McKinney doesn't deserve to suffer, of course he does. He should have gotten the death penalty for this atrocity. Still, I doubt Matthew would appreciate you stereotyping like that.

reply

What stereotype? I never stereotyped anybody in my last statement. Please explain. Do you think there are no black men in jail? And of the black men that are in jail, do you think that none of them are 300 pounds? And of those 300 pound black men in jail, do you think that there are none of them who keep 98 pound , 20 year old white guys as boy-toys? If you answered no to any of these questions, I'd advise you to take a look at the penal system in America today. Or at least watch an episode of OZ.

not nessacarly steriotype but to put race on anything may be taken offencivly and esspecally since the movie is not only about mathew but tollerence. I hope he gets stuck as some guys wife to but I don't care what race or weight he just needs to suffer.

reply

I know his post was several months ago, but I think what that poster meant was that those two bigoted murderers would probably find it even more horrifying if the "wife" was someone not of their race.

reply

that's B.S. When I read that statement it offended me. I'M BLACK... and i know guys in jail and it's not something to make close- minded jokes about. The movie is suppose to help people focus on the negativity and ignorance caused by discrimination and the idea that people are defending the a**hole that wrote the dumb comment. He/ she should grow up. Race has nothing to do with this topic yet they found a way to bring it in. I hope someone explains how such an unneccessary comment can be hurtful to innocent people. I hope that person (fy...) takes a hint and stops being a biggot.

reply

Race had nothing to do with this thread until people started coming in with their way-over-the-top-political correctness and started turning it into a race issue.

reply

Wow. I had no idea this was gonna be such a big thing. Honest, I'm not a bigot or a racist. I just meant that the two responsible should suffer. I don't care who's bitches they are in prison, just as long as they suffer. Fair enough? Everyone okay with that one?

Shepard was brutally gang raped at one point, and you think it's cute to promote prison rape in. What an idiotic response.

reply

Prisoners generally know who IS rapeable . One of the ways to attract and let them your available to have sex, is to wear your pants with your ass exposed. The same way some young black straight guys think it kool. If they only knew. Morons, all of them.

reply

That is a ludicrous, racist comment. But you know that. IMDb isn't for you - this is a professional industry web site.

reply

I'm happy the person that originally wrote the statement understands their actions but the stella... person must not know how it feel s to be judged based on race. I happy that you've never been judged based on the colour of YOUR skin but it happens a lot to me and people i know. So when I see something that insensitive written it becomes very serious. DON'T WRITE ABOUT THINGS YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!!! IT'S A SERIOUS ISSUE! DON'T MAKE LIGHT OF IT!!!

Well Aaron and Russel were auctioned off by the prisoners. Many many inmates wanted those boys as their very own. They wanted to force Matthew's killers to become what they hated. Let the punisment fit the crime.

Matthew Shepherd didn't die the next morning. He died five days later. He was on life support for five days before he died from his injuries.

On another note, I'm curious - what would make being a 300-lb. black guy's "wife" worse than being a 300-lb. _________ (fill in the blank)guy's "wife"? Why is there anything wrong with being a "wife" to begin with? Another topic for another day...

You people argue too mcuh.
Do you realize how idiotic you sound nitpicking and arguing semantics?
Everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon and get offended by something.

reply

right.

reply

I find it very ironic that you make your point that you are glad that Aaron McKinney got such a strong sentence, but then end your post with a homophobic remark including male on male rape.

reply

God, you're an over-sensitive prick. McKinney is homophobic. He is saying it would be fitting if he was raped because he is such a homophobe.

Political correctness and thoughtless outbursts like this are going to ruin society some day...

Oops, too late.

reply

There's nothing homophobic about the OP's comment, since neitehr the killer, nor the other inmate are gay. It's not even racist. If you were straight and were raped on a daily basis, would you prefer someone slim, who looked like a girl to rape you or someone who is both fat, manly and might even have a big penis? (if anything it's kind of a compliment to black men).
