Enemy medic glitch

Has anybody else seen the glitch with enemy medics while playing single player. What I have seen them doing is using a rifle and attacking their own team mates. I think it may be caused by them running out of medicine darts but I'm not sure.
Maybe I should try using a spy to steal their weapons and see if they use a medicine dart on my team...
