We never saw...

...the real world in the film, I believe.

What Ash thinks is the real world obviously isn't real, with dogs disappearing, books having blank pages and bystanders as animated as cardboard cutouts.

Class Real simulates the real world, but again it's just a simulation, which is confirmed when Murphy disappears and Ash sees the girl, who also appeared in her reality.

Seems like Ash finally gets to the real world at the end of the movie, as shooting the girl previously got her to the next level (Class Real).
