what to expect?

Hi,

recently I heard the soundtrack for this film. It was amazing. Morricone truly is great, so I checked out the film. But now I wonder...what the hell is this?

I know there is sex in the movie, and I don't give a damn about that. I just wonder, is this a drama about the war and sex as a tool to tell the story, or a film about sex and a story behind it almost as an excuse. I know it's a film by Tinto Brass, but the recommendations feature both "120 days of salom", which I never want to see, and "Malena" one of my favourites of all time, so I have not a clue what to expect.

If anybody can give me some info, thanks. I read some comments but they ofcourse never really go into the 'genre' subject.

I just watched it and i'm not sure what to think of it.

Well, I liked it mostly. The story was good, it was dark and sensual. The film looked great, even if you consider that they might have had a limited budget. Morricone was good too.

Only the orgy scene was just a little too much. I found it not fitting for her. Sure, it was the world of Helmut, and that he resided there was known from scene 1, but the movie would be more powerful if the left more to suggestion there. (some people blame the music for it, but they don't understand the irony of the score)

After all I'm very glad I saw it.

Anyone who is interested in this should see "The Night Porter" it makes the word "decadent" outdated.

A hydrocephalic takes pleasure in milking his cranial harp.
