Am I the only person...

...who thinks they have too many comics/actors/musicians/TV chefs/'celebrities' on Question Time these days? Does anyone else think this is blatant dumbing down? And shows a massive lack of faith by the producers in the interest most British people have in politics? Will anyone else read this post?

More Peter Hitchens? BS, the guy should be chucked into a wood chipper. God I hate him.

The probable reason for the increase in celebrities is because no one is interested without some vapid, brainless and boring so-called celebrity trying too hard to articulate a view point (Eddie Izzard for example in Paris, even though I like the man).

I hear Jane Fonda was supposed to be on, is that true?

I liked it when Peter Hitchens said "Cameron? I've riding a bike before he was in college but because I'm right winged I get ignored for it."

But I don't argue with Ian Hislop being on there, he adds enough comic relief but still knows what he'son about

Will Young is going to be on it! He was doing an interview of BBC 5 Live and flippantly said he'd like to when the editor phoned up and asked him on!

reply

He was an embarrasment and added absolutely nothing to any of the debates...

Nowhere near as bad as Davina McCall tho who did not know a damn thing about anything. And had the audacity to challenge a man like Douglas Murray on things, who I admit I don't always agree with, but jesus does he know his stuff...

You're right there are far too many celebs spouting rubbish! When QT get Tony Benn, Tebbit, George Galloway, Alan Duncan on they are worth watching!

reply

I've actually stopped watching it because of these celebrities on it. Most of them don't have any idea. I watched it last night though and must say I hate the lib dems, but Paddy Ashdown was funny last night, and came across really well.
