I came across a youtube video of a French newscast on David Belle. Yamakasi was also in the title. I don't speak french and the video did not have subtitles, so I just caught a word here and there. David mentions the film, but I do not see him anywhere in the cast list or for the stunts.
Was he just saying that it uses elements of Parkour?
I watched that vid, and what I could make out of it (that Parisian accent is horrible), he's just being reffered to as the original yamakasi. The announcer at one point says 'the guys (reffering to the yamakasi cast) who star in the latest Luc Besson movie...' so let's assume it's a special about the movie that was aired back then. Quite sure the cast learned a few things from Belle or atleast got some tips from him.

I'm pretty sure David Belle doesn't have anything to do with this movie. He is a co-founder of parkour and yamakasi was a group that split off with its own style that is based in another part of Paris. He doesn't have anything to do with the Yamakasi group and so probably doesn't with this film. But since Yamakasi split from his parkour people who are talking about Yamakasi would call him the original one.

But has i heard David was givin a shot in the united state and no one came with him soo when he came back in france the yamakasi kinda reject him from the group and so the movie but the pruducer tell to david don't worry i ll do a movie for the yamakasi and after that i ll do a movie specialy for you so that's why district 13 was produce and distric 13 ultimatum later.
