Ummm. a Mobeius strip is a mathematical phenomena, not a person. see http://mathforum.org/sum95/math_and/moebius/moebius.html. The title is referring to traveling in a sense the way Sam traveled in Quantum Leap. The mobeius strip is a loop of paper having only one side.

Before you go and be too much of a mathematical smarty pants, the Moebius in question is a French comics artist named Jean "Moebius" Giraud. It is a project based on his work.

Before you go and be too much of a comics smarty pants... I guess his nick IS based on the Moebius the other guy was talking about, the mathematical genius we all know

Fact is that the Moebius strip does appear in this movie, sure the project is from Jean Giraud but is also sure that it's based on the theories from Moebius

reply

The mathematical genius we all know isn't called 'Moebius' it's 'Mobius' after Augustus Ferdinand Mobius.

Hey You stole what i was gonna say!

Augustus Ferdinand Mobius is a German Mathematician from the 19th Century.

So why have they spelt it Moebius???

Hi there...

The man's name is Augustus Ferdinant Möbius, notice the dots on the o. It's not an O, it's the German umlaut Ö.
And if -for whatever reasons that may be- you cannot write ä, ü, or ö, you write ae, ue, oe instead. This is the correct method, so the title is spelling it right.

It's something I don't see many people do correctly, if they aren't native speakers. Most just drop the "dots", thus altering the pronunciation, and often enough the meaning of the word... So if you want to impress people, do it right and use oe. ;D
