'It appears you underestimated Bishop's feelings for her'

Contains spoilers!

The way that CIA guys says "It appears you underestimated Bishop's feelings for her" to Redford is awesome. The music behind his voice and the creepy look of the guy, remind me of the design of some scenes in Fight Club.

Also, this scene slams us with new information that shows what a callous patriot Muir is, trading chess pieces to gain advantage. A dark twist very close to the end of the film. Makes Muirs character and job appear more complex and less comic book.

The film's pretty stylish with some beautiful moments. Redford driving the porshe is a nice touch.

And Brad is so the man for going into China to get his girl back. Full props for that.

Sorry to see Tony Scott go. RIP sir.

When they were in the conference room talking and Nathan reacts to the National Security Council guy saying this, he looks at the other two CIA guys (Harker and Aiken) and they both look very uncomfortable. Has it occurred to anyone other than me that THEY ordered Nathan to trade the girl and he was just taking the wrap for them because, in the end, he was still, more a less, a company man? Am I just trying to make more out of it than there really is? Please re-watch the scene and tell me what you think. I'm starting to think that Nathan gave up Elizabeth Hadley under orders and, since it was his last day and he didn't really think he'd have to suffer any repercussions, he didn't want to sell out his CIA comrades. A big clue for me was when Harker (the douchey CIA guy) says, "Should we go off record for this?" when they were about to go into detail about it. He didn't want Nathan giving THEM up ON TAPE. I'm not certain by any means, but that's what discussion boards are for, no?

Yeah, there's a great understated quality to that statement. Great line, great scene.

Watch the deleted scenes, you are pretty much right on

I just watched that scene again and thought the same thing that Muir was taking the blame for Hadley's trade on him self. I too noticed to look on the other officials in the office and thought about it.
