That being said this movie was still nothing special. Good to kill some time and definitely has its moments. It's not as bad as people are making it out ot be but like I said, add AT LEAST 1.5 stars (in some cases more) to films having anything to do with blacks or hip-hop. The 50+ whiteman demographic is a force to be reckoned with on this site.

Also add it for musicals.
From this, if a film starred Doris Day and Sidney Poitier you probably had better DOUBLE the IMDb rating.
And the converse is also true: DEDUCT 1-1.5 for films with the following:
organized crime
Pacino or DeNiro
torture porn ("Oldboy" and the like)
all-male cast
^^Such films are totally overrepresented on the Top 250 and the epitome of "overrated".

I honestly thought that this film was almost painful to watch, but I guess that was intended.

shareMtrahan97- the OP is referring to the general ratings on IMDB. Too many predominantly black casts get low ratings from people who admit on this site they haven't watched the movie, but generally don't like the genre. I'll disagree on the 50 white male demographic. It's usually a youthful white make demographic that shoots these down. All historic black movies are deemed "liberal Hollywood " " we get it, whitey is evil " and similar themes. When the movie (Pride, 42, race, etc ) has nothing to do with "evil whites"
That being said, this movie is hot garbage. Deserves a low rating.
