does jonah die in the movie?

i havent seen it yet but i really want to but before i do does his character commit suicide or die or something?

reply

You don't really want to know that, before you see the movie, do you?

reply

i dont know if ill ever see it cause they wont realease it but yeah your right!

reply

Do you want me to tell you what happens to Jonah? I saw the film at a screening last week. It was randomly a super depressing movie. I think I might have liked it more if I had known that going into it, but it was pretty heavy.

reply

Hayley: you WILL get to see this movie one way or another, I promise you. There is a very good chance it will be back in theaters soon. Either way, it will definitely be coming out on DVD.

I really think the film has more impact and is a better experience if you don't know the ending.

THANKS VERY MUCH! AND YEAH YOUR RIGHT I WOULDNT WANT TO KNOW THE ENDING JUST IN CASE I DO GET TO SEE IT!

I suppose he does but that question isn't answered directly. His tale is pretty true to life, what with the cruelty of young people especially in high school, college. It is so tough to fit in and the drugs was what enabled him to squeeze into their group.

But Jonah becomes pretty damn pathetic with his whining, his clinging nature. Then the idiot believes that the girl will run off with him to Mexico. Yeah, with a little bit of cash and some newly stolen stash of drugs. Did the moron not realize that he would be the only suspect in the pharmacy break-in? He just got fired and the alarm code had nt been changed apparently. Plus he had to break in to the really restricted drugs.

I once worked in a pharmacy and the routine pain killers, sedatives are keep out on the shelves for any employee (qualified) of the pharmacy to fill but the really strong stuff (morphine, Adderall, etc.) is kept locked up so that the actual pharmacist can fill.

The kid was an idiot who deserved his fate...

reply

Did you really see it?. Did you like it, even though it wasn't what you thought? Acting wise and story line and all.

reply

Is that for me or Skylar? I saw it this past weekend. I actually sat with John. It's pretty intense.

i wonder what he thinks when he watches himself in a movie..actually, i wonder what every actor thinks when they watch their own movie.

reply

You know, that's such a great question. The first time I went to a festival and sat at a world premiere with the cast was the first time I really thought about it. Since then I've been to dozens and dozens of movies where I sat with the actors, sometimes next to them, literally. I can tell you that the best word to describe it is "surreal." Most of the time they just watch it like everyone else, although you can't help but wonder what they're thinking. Very often the actors are seeing much of the movie for the first time, especially since they usually are only on set for their own scenes. I saw a film recently where one of the stars turned to me as the credits rolled and said, "wow, I had no idea how it ended."

I won't name names, of course, but most are pretty uncomfortable seeing themselves. They tend to be their own worst critics and, instead of watching the action and following the story, they are often thinking "I could have done that better..."

I know a couple of actors who absolutely will not watch what they've done. That's a bit extreme but it does happen.

Here is what Michael Angarano said when asked about it during a recent interview:

"As for seeing myself on screen, it's always interesting in good and bad ways. There isn't any way of looking at something you've done in an objective way. Maybe there is, though some years later."

I can't speak for anyone else, of course, but that's pretty much in line with what I usually hear.

reply

yeah, i think it'd be kind of awkward. I'd be making fun of myself alot, if i was an actor doing that. like, "man, i just a made a really dumb face."
But, hey thanks for answering my question Larry, I didn't think anybody would.

reply

My pleasure, thatswhat. It was a great question and a perfectly logical one to ask.

They often do make fun of each other. At the Alpha Dog premiere at Sundance 2006 the actors were applauding and laughing at each other's scenes. They practically gave Ben Foster a standing ovation after one of them.

They do laugh at each other's scenes a lot.

I really hope he dies.
I wasn't able to watch the entire movie because the first hour bored me so much.
Nothing happens in this movie at all...
There's more teens making out in this movie than anything else.
The characters are all disgustingly superficial and when one of them dies it's all very uninteresting.
This movie could have been a lot better than it was.

reply

and you saw it where? And no you didn't because a lot goes on

Boring , absolutely .

Indolent lazy self absorbed upper middle class high school graduates & their petty egos all wrapped in their alcohol & drug abused world ? Hanging out by the pool & sauna or sitting around playing video games , going to parties where nothing ever happens ? We have arrived at a time where technological toys & the finest "coolest" clothes & cars that money & third world labor can cheaply provide has elevated this pretending to be sophisticated to a high oxymoronic teen art in our country . WE are as cool as cool can be as long s someone somewhere else works 12hr shifts on assembly lines making all these nice littl spoils of luxury so that we can live out our petty useless lives pretending we're special .

How trite that jonah just happens to work for a pharmacy too , movie was retarded but not as bad a some but this is the "dumb & dumber" age of characters with its age old human theme of much ado about nothing. Perhaps in this way the film somewhat successfully succedes in accomplishing its task , to shw just how worthless & petty our dreams & goals & views all are watered down by "keepin it real" & "chillin out" , which in reality is just so purile & retarded on one huge mass scale . WE are over entertained, overindulged & live inside small placental caccoons of popular reality show/pop star fantasies .

Idiototic self absorbed world , "keepin it real" its not .
