Anyone see this movie?

Well I just want to say that this movie is brilliant. Altough the story is disturbing, you can't help but to watch the movie till the end. The director has done a great job, the leading actress gave a solid performance. So check it out, I wan to know what you think.

I agree, this is a brilliant film which I own on dvd and I think it is a tragedy that so few people have seen it... I think it's time to spread the word on imdb...

I saw it over 2 years ago by accident not knowing what it was about it effected me deeply and really made me think and empathise with the lead actress. I only wish more people saw this too Takashi Ishii is a talented director

I'm a fan of the "rape/revenge" genre and was pleased to see a Japanese one. I also think Takashi Ishii has a great imagination and has a lot of potential. I can't wait to see what else he has to offer.

Does anyone know of any more Japanese rape.revenge films? (Since they're hard to find, I'll take any other revenge film that has an amazing story ie: Chan-wook Park's trilogy)

reply

I just finshed watchingit and was very impressed. I had managed to avoid it somehow for over a year even though the trailer piqued my interest when I saw it. Too bad I didn't check it out sooner since it's was a gorgeous and highly surreal film.

Ishii has often been dubbed as misogynistic, which is understandable yet unfair. The women, even though they are abused horribly, always rise up and refuse to let themselves be dominated. While this one was a little more on the horror side than "Red Vertigo", the overall theme still stands I think.

hmmm just watched it.....didn't like it. Tediously slow and predictable. Yes its better than I spit on your grave but still a poor film....poor, poor film...i saw it out of curiosity expecting something half-decent....i'm writing this disappointed...don't spend your money on this....avoid.

Im glad quite a few people have seen this film. Although the film was quite well directed, i thought it pretty sick and disturbing. Didnt anyone think so? Anyway i lend it out to all my mates just so that they can all suffer the same just for a laugh. LOL!

I found this movie to be entertaining and overall, I found it to be good.

I admit, I avoided this film for about 6 years on the assumption that it would be a pointless, typical rape flick from Japan.
But I changed my tune, opened my mind and I was surprised. The movie is not ground breaking by any means (in my opinion) but it turned out to be an engaging and entertaining movie.

I could feel for the main female lead. I started to root for her as her predicament was bad.

This film isn't nearly as graphic as other rape themed films. It was actually quite decent in nature as compared to others. Besides, the theme here is revenge and a woman just done wrong.

Over all, I would recommend this film to those who enjoy suspense and who have thick skin.

Must admit Freeze Me was better than I expected. The cinematography and editing of scenes which conveyed fear or terror was well executed and Harumi Inoue's performance enhanced this aspect.

It's not rape. It's Surprise Sex.
