This was a great sequel and one that didn't just rehash the story of the original. For me, it was worth the 13 year wait

No I don't think it did, I think it manages to have a suitable blend between old and new borrowing some of the concepts from 'Finding Nemo' but managing to distinguish itself as its own film.
