Izzard sucks
Ive lost count of the number of potentially excellent films ruined by the casting of Eddie Izzard, the guy simply cant act and hes even worse when accents are needed. Stop casting this talentless idiot.

really??? you have that much free time? all power to you and your opineons we all have them. i disagree with you and so will others on here. i think he is avery telent and underappeched actor who does get the the part he disarves. You don't like so don't watch his movies.
shareI don't disagree. He sucked. And how does that give someone "that much free time'? Because they don't like him? How much free time do you have to respond to this? And one could easily watch and enjoy a movie but not enjoy an actor in it. How about if you don't like people talking about actors you like, you stay off here?
shareI've never seen him in anything else, so I can't comment on his body of work. But I will say that after seeing the film I very strongly felt that he was miscast as Chaplin. I don't know what they were thinking.
Just be truthful and if you can fake that you've got it made. ;)
I agree, badly miscast and the most unbelieveable and uncharismatic perfomance in the film.

I thought he had that 'passing resemblance', but his acting didn't do it for me. The people I watched the movie with were impressed... I was thinking of RDJ's take on the man.
shareRDJ’s take is different because Chaplin is a totally different person in that film.
Chaplin in this film is a relentless, merciless bully trying to wear down Marion Davies after she has repeatedly told him no. He refuses to accept her answer and she is tired of him pestering her.
