Out-of-control teenagers ... no gratuitous sex?

We are talking about a culture that came up with the party game Naked Twister approximately three minutes after the original Twister game was invented.

I've seen clips of Japanese game shows where a row of petite nude women stand in a kiddie pool surrounded by 200 men in cheeseburger costumes as they furiously masturbate on the girls. This is prime time entertainment in Japan for all ages.

The movie Battle Royale is far removed from this reality. You are telling me that a Japanese student class is thrown onto a deserted island with no rules and no-one is gang raped? not one of those students had a single hentai tentacle in their rucksack as a weapon? No titilating warrior princess to enter the battle in a latex bodysuit emblazoned with the hello Kitty logo?

This movie even had O-Ren Ishii's jailbait bodyguard as one of the students ... and yet nothing.

I am thoroughly disappointed with Japan after watching this.

So many words to say simply "I know nothing whatsoever about Japan".

Because really, if you're not trolling then this is quite remarkable stupidity.

I'm Addy. Just Addy. From God, to Kane, to Addy.

Comedic excellence. This needs a bump!

I was also very disappointed at the lack of Godzilla. I thought it was required by law that Japanese movies have Godzilla in them. Didn't they write that into the 1946 constitution?

There was implied Necrophelia.

No, no there was no such thing.

Read the manga. The novel implied some (mostly in memory reflections), but the manga is loaded with it. It's my favorite interpretation of the story, as it gives each character more depth and background, thus making it more tragic whenever someone meets their demise.

Don't read the manga. The novel implied some (mostly in memory reflections), but the manga is loaded with it. It's the worst interpretation of the story, as it gives each character less depth, reducing them to one-dimensional caricatures, thus making it less tragic whenever someone meets their demise.

Fixed that for you

reply

Thanks, but that needed more Godzilla.

A fair point.

And it suffers from a shocking lack of Godzilla. I mean seriously, what were they thinking? How is this story any good without Godzilla?

Awesome. Totally awesome. Way to go Hamilton.

You've earned yourself one of these:

Hurray!

What a wacky country. Prime time bukkake? That is crazy. I was surprised with the lack of sex too.

Racist sterotypes much? They are not all perverts, you know?
