Alex Van Halen once said something like...

'What's the point in making something so complex that you're the only one who understands it?'

He was referring to a drum solo, but this line obviously applies to everything in life. As my English instructor in college, Mr R, once said, Bullsh_t baffles brains.

It could be said about films like this and worst of all, Being John Malkovich.

Every movie needs a clear plot.

When The Who released their classic 1971 record, Who's Next, Pete Townsend described it as a 'straightforward record...I've certainly nothing against making albums like that.'

Bottom line: It has to make sense.

Goodbye, y'all. Have a very good, good day.

So dark the con of man.

But what are your thoughts on Un chien andalou?

While you have a point here, you have to be aware that, just because you don't understand this film, doesn't mean the other audiences don't. Judging from the numerous reviews I have read online, I can safely conclude there are a few people out there who actually understand this film in their own way. I begin to appreciate Memento Mori more after reading their reviews. My favourite interpretation of the film can be found here

What makes you think that one can only appreciate movies one understands?
