Plot Problem.... Yeah, I know it's a B Movie.

I know it's a B Movie but I don't get this:

So the device is the reason the Sasquatch won't let them leave... but when he attacks the blonde chick he leaves the device right there laying next to her instead of destroying it...

Then they speculate that the Sasquatch might not know exactly that the device is dangerous but that he senses that there's danger through the people...

And then the Sasquatch let's Lance Henriksen live... because he destroys the device that the Sasquatch didn't know was dangerous in the first place?
