Leave it to Hollywood to butcher a good thing. Since North Americans (for the most part) are ignorant when it comes to foreign language films, they have to go and make their own english spoken copy of the screenplay. What a joke, but I'm not surprised. They did the same thing with the Argentinian film, Nine Queens (made in 1999 or 2000), they made an english remake just last summer.

I still don't understand why people have such a hard time accepting watching a movie with subtitles.

The Last Kiss was a very enjoyable movie and true to life.

It's just like the Spanish version of "Open Your Eyes", which I liked,
but Hollywood scammed most people by putting out the inferior version
Vanilla Sky, with Tom Cruise (can't he find his own films to make?), even though they got the original Spanish guy to partipate, along with Penelope Cruz), rushing it onto cable in front of "Open Your Eyes".

It pisses me off because I wasn't paying attention and they got me with
the remake before I got to see the superior original.

*sobs* you just reminded me of that sad tragedy. Pah, I'm dead upset they're going to remake "L'Ultimo Bacio". It's just NOT ON.

"But this movie isn't trash."

im not saying this movie is trash, in fact this is one of my favorite movies.
im saying that the movies that holliwood present to us as "original" are really the same things that weve already seen. and when they are run out of ideas they turn to good movies that dont need to be remaked. Coming from a latin country I have to see almost every movie with subtitles, and i still enjoy them and is not distracting, plus is interesting to learn from other cultures through foreign movies
