the best spyro in the series

Well, there is one advantage to being me. Something you can never imitate, having you for a friend.

I actually found it the weakest of the original trilogy. :(

There were a lot of problems for me, which detracted from it, among them:

-Re-use of a LOT of elements, graphics, characters, etc. from the second game, making it feel less fresh and less like a fully developed game. At times, this didn't feel like Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon, it felt like Spyro 2.5. It didn't have enough of an identity.

-The story didn't flow as nicely for me as it did with the more simplistic first two entries.

-The new playable characters felt tacked on and the controls for them were clunky.

-The missions felt more like busy-work than the first two games.

-It felt like the level design wasn't as grand as it should have been, especially after the first two games. They were somehow simpler, yet more mind-numbingly complex.

I still love the game, but felt a bit let down after the first two.

And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?

I thought that YotD was a perfected version of Ripto's Rage.

I dunno, to me, Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon felt like a broken, rushed cash-in version of Ripto's Rage. It was still a decent game (I gave it a 7), but I just felt vastly underwhelmed by it.

It felt so much less inspired, to the point where several parts of the game are literally the exact same as in Ripto's Rage. And the new characters are too clunky in terms of controls.

The only thing I really appreciated is that this one apparantly has some coding built-in that will make the challenges a little easier if you fail a few times, which I've had to rely on, as the clunky controls for the side characters made getting a few of the eggs frustrating to the point where I almost gave up.

I never had any issues with the extra characters. The only one that I disliked using was Agent 9 because he was too slow for his size and levels. Bentley was slow as well, but his levels accommodated him. Which parts did you struggle with?

In my opinion it's the best game ever.
