Error in the film - Jimmy's Ears

When Jimmy Morris is young you can clearly see that he has free or unconnected earlobes, but when he is an adult (Dennis Quaid) he has connected earlobes. I don't know if many people noticed this, but I did as soon as he became an adult.

Holy crap, get a life, dude.

I mean, I like finding movie errors as much as the next guy, but come on. That's a bit picky. Do you really expect a director to look for something like this when casting a kid for the part? I don't think so.

reply

yeah, that's a little picky.

if you want a more obvious error, the bullpen that he and the Devil Rays warm up in while at the Ballpark in Arlington is actually the home bullpen, not the visitor's one which it should be.........those dumb bastards.

Another maybe not so obvious error is the stadium that he plays in when he is in AA Orlando is not the stadium they play in. The AA minor league team plays in Tinker Field, which is right outside the Citrus Bowl Stadium, the stadium is right behind the right field wall, been there many times when I was a kid when the Orlando Twins and then the SunRays played there. Also a lot bigger than what is depicted in the film.

Arent they on the road then?...fans are making fun of his age, and everyone laughs when he throws the wild pitch over the catcher.

The field is actually Nelson Field, an Austin ISD field in Austin, TX. The
majority of the film was shot around here to save money. I was appalled to
think that the producers would suppose that any film goer would actually take
that park as a Double-A field. The original plan was to shoot the Double-A
scenes at Christianson Stadium in Midland, TX, around 450 mi. away.

I know because I was the catcher in the oilfield scene at the beginning.
That scene was filmed at the Heep Ranch. The oil rig was used in the Newton
Boys film also, and there is a small lake near there that was a scene in the
film Second-hand Lions.

The tryout scene was shot at Taylor High School in Taylor, TX, the Owls home
field is Thorndale HS in Thorndale, Tx.

The Durham Bulls scenes were shot at The Dell Diamond, home of the Round Rock
Express, in Round Rock, TX.

The Austin Metro Baseball League (MSBL/MABL) had around 20 players perform in
the film. The Royce Clayton character is played by Jorge Sanchez, the DRays
Catcher is played by Darrin Glenn. Everyone in the oilfield scene except the
first player sliding into the base was a member of the league.

Dennis and Jim Morris were very nice to be around. I got baseballs signed by
Dennis, Jimmy, John Lee and Mark Rich. Keeping that one on my shelf for some
time.

Any other tidbits you'd like to know, just ask...

Christiansen stadium is a crap field now, it used to be good until they took down the giant green fence and replaced it with chain link. My high school baseball coach told me this is why we didnt play there this past year.
