Field of Dreams ripoff

Did anybody else notice when Quiad(Morris) gives his dad the ball he says "hey dad" almost in the exact same tone Kevin Costner says it to his dad when asking him if he wants to have a catch at the end of Field of Dreams?

reply

So the tone alone makes it a rip-off of "Field of Dreams"? Puh-leaze.

reply

first off watch your mouth
why don't u watch those two parts of the movies again and get back to me...Both baseball movies...both talking to their fathers....both sayign the exact same things in the exact same way...and its not just the tone alone.

reply

Watch my mouth?

What in the world did I say that was sooooo horrible other than disagreeing with you?

Moving on, though...

Both baseball movies... check.
Both talked to their fathers... check.
Both said the same TWO WORDS in similar ways... check.

Oh I guess you're absolutely right! After all, the similarites of these two movies is absolutely AMAZING!

In BOTH movies, they wore uniforms!
In BOTH movies, the umpire yelled "STRRRIIIIIIIIIIIKE!!"
In BOTH movies, they showed the sky.
In BOTH movies, it rained.
In BOTH movies, they had credits at the end.

I guess every romance movie rips off every other one, because someone will inevitably say "I love you", even though someone has said it before, in a previous movie.

Every action movie that has a gun rips off every other action movie, well, because they all have guns and they all go BANG!

The list goes on, and on, and on.

Field of Dreams rip-off, my *beep*.

Yea tool huh,the moveie was boring, It was not "a Baseball movie" it was a movie with Baseball in it. It's About a farmer with "dad problems" Who is a borderline nut job.Because his's daddy did not play catch with him. So he is told to build a stadium his backyard.

Soudnded like a nut-jog who needs hugs. Sorry but it was awful

in 8th grade,we had to go to this baseball game and it was 30 degrees below zero. We left around 12:00, we WERE supposed to leave around 12:30 but we couldn't take the cold. Brrr. When we got back, we didn't go to foreign language (thank god) and we watched the rookie. Too much baseball!!! I prefer the rookie over field of dreams anyday. That line in FOD, "If you build it, they will come' or something lilke that. It's been used too much. Benchwarmers: "If you build it, nerds will come." I'm dying to see that movie (benchwarmers)

reply

For those of us who have had fathers and sons that line sounds pretty much the same no matter what son says it to his dad.

reply

watched it first time last night, and when he said "hey dad". I turned to my father and we both said "you wanna have a catch!"

my fave part was when De Niro smashed that guy's head in with a bat.

Batter up!

reply

I'm pretty sure De Niro didn't do that in The Rookie. If I recall, it was in Meet the Parents.
