the train sequence verged on comedy

the entire sequence should have ended with the first guy dead. afterwards it was like i was watching a different movie. the final scene with all 5 of them inside the bathroom and ripley desperately trying to wipe the blood off the front of the door was highly ridiculous and unbelievable.

I think it was supposed to be horrible and funny too. It made me both laugh and squirm uncomfortably. I thought it was very like something Hitchcock would have done. One of those 'wait a minute, whose side am I on here?' points, like that moment the car stops as it slides into the swamp in Psycho.

"Look! - it's the Invisible Man!"

I agree with you -- it was supposed to be darkly humorous. There's no other way to see it, IMO. And with a line like, "be careful with my watch because if it breaks I'll kill everyone on the train"...

"be careful with my watch because if it breaks I'll kill everyone on the train"...
or "First class never used to be this crowded"

Yes a very funny scene.
As mentioned above, the Watch & 1st Class gags.
Also...
"Let's be optimistic and say we won't need that"
"Smoking in a non smoking car, how rude"
"Is he dead?" "I don't know"
Also the music when ever one of the Germans entered the toilet.
The whole scene is brilliant and one of the best I've seen in terms of black comedy.

verged? it was hilarious.

I'm with the Mattress Police. There are no tags on these mattresses.

I think it went over the OP's head. By about 2 miles.

yes it was a bit like the end of the Departed. However I really loved this movie so much.

You've obviously never killed anyone before. It's especially hard on a train.
