childhood memories

ahhh of living careless and free like a kid,
this movie was a cool extension of it without being sugary syrupy sweet, and
actually clever laugh out loud inducing moments.

I don't remember childhood being like that at all. I remember it being like walking on eggshells, and living in a state of fear, oppression, betrayl, and rage.

I had a childhood like that too, but I always really liked movies like Recess School's out because they were innocent and fun and happy and I imagined that's how happy life could be

This film's got a heart of gold. It's beauty is in its nostalgia. It's timeless in that both children and adults can relate to what it meant to be a child. It's interesting because I think this film appeals more to kids who grew up in the 90s. I feel that childhood would be very different what with the decline in quality as far as children's TV shows go and playing outside is substituted with cellphones.

The scene in the tree house when the gang is together reminiscing about the past, and Gus breaks down because he doesn't have those memories. It's beautiful and heartbreaking and captures what it means to be a kid. I loved this film because of that.

I am so on a roll! No crying in my bath tonight.
