Janine's crazy hair

What's the significance?

Her hair represented her mental emotional condition. Once she went on mood stabilizers her hair became smooth and fashionable. During her early rebellion her hair was unbrushed and wild. Seems right, right?

I haven't got to the smooth hair part yet, but I've met a lot of girls who have crazy hair. It can be attractive but I also realize it can be a hassle to be a woman with long hair and have hair that is difficult to manage. The significance in the movie, idk.

I'm not a woman much less Deanna Durbin, but the old-time glam-shot appeals to me.
