I only felt sorry for Sy. I never found him creepy.

There's so many people on talking about how creepy Sy Parrish is but I actually wanna give him a hug. There is this innocence about him that keeps him in the wholesome light. He only wanted to be apart of the Yorkin family.
I guess I can relate to him in the sense that we're both outcasts that are obsessed with being part of a family. I'm more wild and spontaneous than Sy will ever be though. I don't Sy would ever stick fruit roll ups up his butt and let a friend's dogs eat them out. I wanted to start a family with this one chick but I actually scared her off by sending her pics of me naked covered in candy. I thought she would understand that it was supposed to be seen as art but I was wrong. No trolling here.

"a part", not "apart".

"a part" = to be a part of.
"apart" = to be separate from.

Sorry...this is a new pet peeve of mine .

He is creepy, but sad. And I also felt sorry for him.

I was on-board with the op's thoughts here right up until he started talking about dogs eating roll-ups out of his butt and being naked covered in candy. Seriously, what the fresh hell was that? Too funny.

I did find Sy creepy, the film wouldn't have worked as a thriller if you didn't, but I also felt great sympathy for him too. He's quite a tragic character and [SPOILER ALERT] not the monster that you expect him to be at the end of the film.

Robin Williams killed this role, it's by far my favourite performance of his.
