Why No Men in Black?

Why are there no Men in Black in this movie? If I had to guess I think they might have made the audience laugh because of their eccentric behavior and this isn't supposed to be a funny movie. It worked for the Men in Black movies but those are comedies and they're definitely human in those films.

I like how Indrid Cold was portrayed and how his meeting with Gordon was shown. I think that if it was done just like it's done in the book it again would have caused unintended laughter on the part of the audience because the behavior of these alleged ultraterrestrials is undeniably funny even if it isn't intended to be. It works great in a book but I don't think it would work in a movie that isn't a comedy.

Wasn't Indrid cold a man in black? That's the way I always thought

How was Indrid Cold portrayed in the book? Someone told me the "Indrid Cold" element was only added for the movie?

Indrid Cold was the name of an alien being that visited a farmer over the course of many years. He is portrayed differently in the movie mostly to personify the Mothman.
