Anyone see this movie in the theater?

And was the atmosphere creepy inside your theater as you were watching this? It was for me the first time I watched this at home after midnight.

Hi hillarytrump, yes, I did see this in the movie theater when it first came out. I knew very (extremely) little of the Mothman, and it looked interesting. However, it was not so much creepy for me, as it was more confusing. The mothman, who I thought was the culprit for all of this, was only in this movie for about 6 seconds in the beginning. I was trying to tie in the mothman to all of this somehow, but couldn't. However, the three most creepy points that I recall are:

(i) - When Richard Gere's character was on the phone in his hotel room. He's talking to somebody and walking around the room, and at one point, standing in front of a mirror on a door. Then, RG walks away from the mirror, but the reflection in the mirror remained, and almost as if the reflection was spying on the man in the room. It was only there for a second, but it definitely sent chills up my spine!!

(ii) - When Ingrid Cold knew everything RG was doing in his hotel room while on the phone with him. Including "Chap Stick" (and even the way he said it).

(iii) - Debra Messing walking through the town of Point Pleasant.

Still a pretty decent movie, all things considered.

Yeah, creepy AF. Great movie. That scene in the car (during the first five minutes) scared everybody s*itless.

Huge fan of the mothman and everything about it and I thought this movie handled it very well. People that say they hate the movie don't really know much about the moth man or have an imagination for that matter. pretty much touched on everything that was in the book just handling it a different way. saw it opening weekend when it came out and I still get creeped out by the music and the imagery and everything. actually watching the all region Blu-ray right now
