I'm afraid to watch this

I own the movie, my dad baught it after reading The book and told me that it sucked. I've read the book and loved the Kenyatta series, but i'm truly afraid of watching this movie. I've heard Kenyatta has DREADS? Is that a sick joke? Kenyatta's a bald man as described in the novels. It's fitting for his personality.

Read this:
Crime Partners, which went straight to video. Although the movie starred Snoop Dogg, Ice-T and Ja Rule, it was "nothing more than a large-scale money-laundering operation

I dunno about usa, but on the german cover it says in big letters: Ice T, Snoop Dogg + Ja Rule.

Snoop Dogg: appears in three short scenes.
Ice T: appears in two even shorter scenes.
Ja Rule: appears as a masked hitman, so I didn´t recognize him until I saw his name in the credits again.

the action scenes are all in bad slow-motion, many characters are very corny. Clifton Powell was not as bad as they say, but I didn´t read the books so I guess the criticiscm must come from not staying true to the material there. Tyrin Turner and his friend were ok, except for the fact that they end EVERY sentence in this movie with ", man."

Ice T & Snoop Dogg were ok, normally they´re just voicin around and stuff so I guess they should stick to that.

Frank Burns has gone nuts!

NO, Crime Partners was made because it was Kenneth Supreme's (the head of a street gang the 5 per centers) dream. He became close friends with Gotti while Gotti was shooting a video in Kenneth's hood... from there they became extremely close.
Gotti hooked him up with the movie industry and actually signed a contract to make up to 4 movies. The STARS in this movie didn't even get paid to do this movie .. they did it as a favor and for the pure fun of it.
If you didn't grow up in the projects or live in the lifestyle of 5 per centers.. you wouldn't give a *beep* about it.
Watch American Gangster-Kenneth Supreme-it's an interesting piece.

money laundering operation? LOL you must work for the government.
or are you just brain washed by what they put in the media?
They held Gotti's money for 2-3 years to scare him not to use the funds available to him to help Kenneth Supreme in getting a good lawyer. They wanted him on a stick. The feds used the money laundering charge as a chess play.
It's a pretty ridiculous...more so wrongful use of power if you ask me.

This movie is hilariously bad. I believe the money laundering story actually, because there is no way that the makers took themselves seriously.

It looks like it was shot with consumer camera's. This movie really really sucks. It's so bad it's funny.
