that's great that you think that but it really was not that bad. i loved it!!!

It's not bad at all its a fun movie

I agree. No offense to any fans of Catherine Zeta-Jones, Billy Crystal, or Julia Roberts (myself being a fan of all three), but this *was* a dumb movie. For starters, that Eddie Thomas guy was kind of cynical; he "said" "f--k you" to his mom, then he fantasized about Gwen being publically humiliated by Larry King and shooting her. Where's an anger management class when you *need* one? Secondly, Eddie and Gwen did *not* get back together as we the audience were hoping for. Well, at least it had Billy Crystal calling the Doberman a "Nazi bastard".

One more thing: sheesh, how hard is it to put on a boot?

reply

Ok, if you thought the audience was supposed to want Eddie and Gwen back together.....wow. I will admit that the romance between Eddie and Kiki was very poorly done (my only big complaint about this movie), but it was clear what the aim of the movie was. Very simple. Ditch the b**** and get over your anger with the quiet girl you've always had fun with.

It was disappointing. Why can't Billy Crystal and John Cusack get better roles. A complete waste of talent!

reply

it was good movie up until the end. the ending was very weak and didn't really flow well with the rest of the movie, it was very abrupt and didn't make to much sense...with john cusack and julia roberts suddenly just packing their bags and walking out of the hotel.

The movie wasn't meant to be the best movie ever, it was meant to be a funny romance...Don't expect a romantic comedy to be as good as The Lord of the Rings, Scarface, etc. Romantic comedies are rarely ever very creative or original, because new ideas for this type movie are quite impossible to create. If you are tired of seeing the same old, same old, watch a different genre of movie. A.S. was all that I thought it would be. It had a great cast, it had its funny moments, and it wasn't completely unoriginal. If you can't say anything else good about the movie, just admit that the cast was pretty good, especially for a romantic comedy.

*some of this could be considered spoilers if you haven't seen the movie*

I love this movie. i saw it a couple of times in theatres. i have it on DVD and watch it whenever i need a good laugh. Everything about this movie is awesome. l love the cast. The make such an incredible collection of characters. The supporting players are incredibly fun. Hank Azaria Christopher Walkin Seth Green and Stanley Tucci are amazing in their roles. They add such color to the movie. Then of course there are the leads. Catherine Zeta Jones and Billy Crystal were entertaining, but I must say that my favorites are John Cusack and Julia Roberts respectivly. They are outstanding. John Cusack plays his part well, staying true to his romantic comedy. And I just love the line "I'm a paranoid schizophrenic. I'm my own entourage!" because it fits the character so well. We see all these visions of bad things happening to Gwen, but he says he here to win her back and at the same time he starts falling for Kiki. It's great. Julia Roberts does an awesome job of making Kiki lovable. The story line is oddly fun (I'm sure it's not 100 % original but I personally haven't seen anything thats uncanny in resemblance). I enjoyed seeing a little bit of Eddie and Kiki's friendship at the resturant. And the stories told make for cute history. This is such a light and enjoyable movie, but I do understand why people might come across it and not like it. It's a "love it" or "hate it" film. and I LOVE IT. (but to each his own)

None of John Cusack's movies suck. They're all really good. He is the same in everything usually but still very talented. But if anyone's a fan of his go watch Better Off Dead now, best movie he's ever done.

I think all of it was bad, EXCEPT the movie that Hal showed at the end at the premiere of Time over time. That was hilarious and it also is actually a pretty good idea for a movie.

Hey you know whats funny. I always thought that dogs..um..laid eggs. And I learned something today.

I wasn't keen on this movie. Julia Roberts and John Cusack's characters didn't seem right for each other in my opinion.

reply

I agree here. The idea of them together at the end of the movie was a nice idea, and they didn't do it well at all. If you want to enjoy this movie (which I do), remove your focus from the romantic and just enjoy the clever, fast-paced comedy.
