America's sweethearts is such a cool film - graet cast, super acting, humerous and u can watch it as many times as u want and u don't get bored!

I thought the movie was ok, at times amusing. It wasn't bad. I liked Seth Green in it. His hair was a little too short but he was sooo cute! I love him, and basically he's the only reason i watched this movie. "Its code. Its FUN!"
shareI can't say I agree with you on it being the coolest movie. yes, it was a great cast, but I found the dialogue cheesy, the acting sub par, and the laughs really cheap. I mean, that thing with Billy and the dog? Stupid... If you want to see a really good romantic comedy, I recommend When Harry Met Sally or Notting Hill. those are two movies that are actually romantic and funny!

Will someone please explain to me why so many people and critics have such a problem with this movie? I loved it, I even saw it in the theater 4 times.

It is hated by many precisely because it makes fun of them. Any film that dares make fun of narcissists, of which there are many among critics and film workers, is risking a terrible backlash.
Narcissists do not tolerate being mocked. And we are living in age of narcissism.
It is so easy to make fun of human weaknesses, but people with weaknesses are in majority. The normal ones are in minority. Hence - no more comedies. Hollywood figured this out before we did. If there is a comedy, it will be based on something unreal, and not mock human weaknesses, especially narcissism.
Same happened with "Serial Bad Weddings" a French comedy that mocks racism - not the brutal, open type, but the one that most of us suffer from without being aware of it. British press immediately found fault with it and pronounced it "bad" (because it is not politically correct), when it is a brilliantly funny film.
Don't be so hard on the film. I gave it 6 stars.
