Just watched it for the first time....(spoilers)

(spoilers)
What a piece of beep. I expected this big twist at the end, showcasing the complexity of these two kids, but no. Nothing. Just a "girl power" spittoon. This could have been a great movie, but it fell flat on it's face. I was thinking of the ways that these kids could have come out on top, trying to piece together some idea that they had which would blow my mind. Perhaps it is more realistic because high school kids ARE idiots, but I wanted it to turn out another way. I didn't want a justification of the murder or the attack on Sandra Bullock's character, but it would have been cool if the kids outsmarted the cops. Having the girlfriend be the mastermind would have been much more satisfying.

I watched it for the first time recently, and while it did have some formulaic/predictable scenes, I enjoyed the film overall. Ryan Gosling's performance was stellar, as was Pitt's and Bullock is charming on screen.

"This is a faithful saying...Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief."

I agree, I think the film's highlights are:

-Michael Pitt
-Ryan Gosling
-the whole concept of the film

But this would've been so much better if the kids got away with it or at least Pitt.
