When one of the two antagonists had the heroine over the cliff, he shakes her violently hearing some guy's voice in his head and then he licks her. Obviously I don't understand his behavior, lol. Yes I know he's a murderer probably either going off the deep end or already gone round the bend, but I still don't get it.
It was Sandra's B's character who was hearing the voice in her head of her ex-husband trying to kill her & I think Richard licked her because he was getting so turned on about killing her. Weird I know, lol
yeah it was just mainly his sick nature, and after a few takes, it says that he asked Sandra if he could do it to "prove his sick nature" and make it more like known or w/e....
Maybe it's just something Ryan likes to do, I mean random point I know, but he licks Rachel McAdams big time when they have the love scene in The Notebook
Chandler: on second thoughts, gum would be perfection. (thinks) Gum would be PERFECTION??
He licked her because Ryan Gosling loves to lick his leading ladies. He licked Rachel McAdams in The Notebook as well and he ended up dating both ladies, Sandra and Rachel. He seems like he would be really good in bed. A girl can only dream... ahhh.
Actually, that scene where Ryan's character licks Sandra was not written in the script, from what I read. Ryan asked the director, or somebody in charge, if he could pull a scene like that, to prove his character's sick nature. Can you picture this: Ryan to the cast and crew "I didn't do that right. Please, may we shoot that scene again..." "Still didn't feel right. One more time, please." LOL!
I thought that scene was hot, regardless. Lucky Sandra, not her MBN character, to be on the receiving end.

The scene near the end of the movie, where Ryan Gosling licks Sandra Bullock's face, was not scripted. After a few takes, Gosling asked Bullock if it would be okay if he added it in to prove his character's sick nature.
It is possible that he licked her as a way of showing he was no longer cautious. It was as he was saying, "Look! I'm doing this out of rationality and do not care if my DNA covers your face!" He no longer gets a thrill out of planning his attacks; he wants the rush from being rash and spontaneous and his view on murder completely changes in this moment.

imo that was so unnecessary. no wonder it was not in the script and it added absolutely nothing to the character or to the movie. reply share
Oh, I thought it added to his need for power, because all throughout the movie he was using sexual advances to dominate her and break her down. He called her out on everything and had a knack for picking women with weak relationships with men. (He even said of Lisa," It's amazing what a girl without a father will do for a little male attention" or something like that). Idk, it made me cringe.
I didn't think it was that confusing ... did no one see him briefly kiss her before licking up her face? Sexual power, just like he tried with her all through the movie along with the other girl.
If I ever start referring to these as the best days of my life, remind me to kill myself.
