Title of the movie?

Why does the movie use the term "hell". Isn't that a term most fundamentalist bible thumping christians use about being saved?

Because I work on board Battleship Iowa now home ported in San Pedro, CA, I have just started reading the book the film derives from.

The accident of 19 April, 1989 was indescribably horrific. The center gun of turret #2 suffered an 'open-breach explosion', when the 6 bags of gunpowder, weighing 660 pounds, loaded in the gun ignited. The result was an inconceivably hellish blowtorch that destroyed the turret and killed the 47 men in the entire turret structure.

I have seen rare photos of the damaged turret and also the recovery efforts. Trust me, you do not want to see them, they truly are a glimpse of hell.

My ignore list is much too long for a sig line.

So anyone who believes in religion and Christ is a bible thumper? Seems like someone should be praying that heaven and hell don't exist.

it's a glimpse because the ensign and 1st class are walking into dark spaces full of burn and mangled bodies, it's a glimpse of hell, you don't have to believe in hell, there's just no other way to describe it, it's hell, people say war is hell, they don't say war is...dirty or war is...a bad time, "war is hell" sums it up nicely whether you're an athiest or...orthodox jew
